COLOURTREND SWORDS CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY
– CELEBRATIONS INCLUDE LIVE BROADCAST WITH RADIO STATION Q102 –
Colourtrend Swords marked the 10th anniversary of the store opening last weekend, celebrating the staff, customers and local community on Saturday, 13th August 2022. The celebrations included a broadcast from Q102 with live from the store.
Colourtrend, the premium Irish paint brand, opened the store in 2012 in Swords and has served people in the North Dublin community and further afield since then, with a huge range of quality products and personalised interiors consultancy services.
Local GAA Allstar Paul Flynn cut the Ribbon on the store 10 years ago, which began with a staff of just four people. Over the decade that has followed, the team at the Swords store has grown to a staff of seven, including three fully qualified instore interior designers.
The store’s longest serving team member is Tara Smart who joined the business as a retail assistant having qualified as an Interior Designer in 2001. In 2019, Tara took the reins and stepped into the role of Store Manager.
Today, Tara continues to lead the business and deliver a service that extends beyond providing high-quality paint to people across Dublin and further afield, but to deliver expert advice and consultations on making the right choice in colours, styles and use for each customer’s home.
Speaking about the anniversary, Tara commented: “This really is a momentous milestone for us here at Colourtrend Swords, marking what has been a great decade for us building the business and getting to know and serve the community here. We feel lucky to be serving great people with imaginative and ambitious ideas for their homes.
“What I feel most proud of is the service we provide beyond being simply a shop. While Colourtrend paint speaks for itself in terms of quality and variety, what I feel really sets us apart is the time and attention we devote to helping our customers make the right choice for them. As well as our colour consultations in store, we can also provide one our qualified interior designer to travel to your home for a bespoke colour consultation.
“With over 1,500 shades to choose from in the Colourtrend range, in every finish for all surfaces inside and out, it’s important for us to guide our customers on their choice to make sure they are more than happy with their selection. Our paint is premium quality and lasting, so it needs to be the perfect choice. We take that very seriously.
Part of the Community
“I am also very proud of the links that we have developed across Swords and North Dublin and our active role in the community. There is a wonderful community spirit in the area, and we wholeheartedly get behind local causes and groups such as Swords Tidy Towns and Swords Celtic Football Club, which we worked with to upgrade the changing facilities and club house.
“The team here would be quite active in supporting causes close to their hearts, leading the store’s activities supporting Irish charities such as the Irish Heart Foundation, Dogs Trust, and Snowflakes autism support service. It’s important for us to connect with the people around us and really feel part of the community.”
Colourtrend Swords has been a member of the local Fingal Dublin Chamber since 2012, and the team were proud winners of Customer Service Retail Excellence Award from the Chamber in 2013.
Store Celebrations
To mark the 10th anniversary, Colourtrend Swords held celebrations including having Q102 broadcast live from the store.
The store also offered free colour consultations with its inhouse expert Colour Consultants and ran competitions with spot prizes given out throughout the day.
Continuing, Tara Smart said: “It was important for us to mark this milestone with the community around us, whether in store or tuning in to Q102, as people across Dublin and the surrounding areas have been such an integral part of the story of Colourtrend Swords. Whether people we serve as customers or people we have met through our work with local community groups or charities, we wanted to bring as many people as possible together to mark the occasion.
“We also wanted to make sure that anyone with a project – a build, a renovation or just a touch up and refresh, knows that we are here and ready to support with all of their paint and colour needs.
